I know I’m getting a bit ahead of myself here, but the game has changed. Mlm is no longer looked at as the plague or some dreaded business industry; no in fact, it is rapidly becoming the norm. The question will soon be (Which one are you in?)
Here is a brief History Lesson of what is network marketing: There is nothing new about Direct Selling; what was once known as peddlers, traders, merchants, and caravans is now known as direct selling or network marketing. Early man has always survived on trade…you have a nail, I have a hammer! This bartering system or trade system has always been a way of exchanging goods for goods. The major difference between now and then was the geographical barriers that stopped or hindered those early merchants from trade.
They had to overcome mountains, valleys, and foothills. These ecological issues impeded the exchange of goods and services. What direct sellers did was a great deed. As the road ways started to be built up during the 10th century and travel became less arduous; they were able to bring novelties, ornaments, silk belts, bonnets, brass rings, thimbles, writing tablets, and woolen to the people that were not able to travel to different cities for these items.
Through the end of the 19th century to the 1900s selling continued to thrive. The 1950s brought the gathering of customers to homes for product demonstrations and to socialize with friends.
Direct Selling offered something that never really existed before…you guessed it…an opportunity to find success without the normal barriers of age, education, or sex.
Today it’s no different; it’s becoming easier for those that would open up to what is network marketing opportunity and use the different resources that are available to build; such as the Internet and web 2.0; or what is called offline and online marketing.
